About: The Return Later Program

Overview

The Return Later program makes upgrading easier.

Get your new phone first, transfer your data at home, and return your TradeUp device within 15 days. You can opt in when you upgrade in-store, online, or through Customer Care.

Eligibility

When you upgrade, you can opt-into the Return Later program whether you complete your upgrade in store, online, or through Customer Care.

To be eligible for the Return Later program you must:

  • Have a phone enrolled in the TradeUp program.

  • Be on an eligible plan.

  • Be a Postpaid customer with an eligible credit limit.

  • Return your phone in TradeUp eligible condition.

How It Works

Once you opt into the Return Later Program, you’ll have up to 15 days to return your TradeUp phone in store. Before returning your device, we recommend backing up your data and removing any personal information.

If the phone isn't returned in eligible condition within the 15 day period, the remaining TradeUp amount (plus applicable taxes) will be charged to your next bill.

If you’re enrolled in our Phone Protection Plan, your coverage will carry over when you upgrade your phone. Once your transfer is complete, the Phone Protection Plan will apply to your new device.

Well send you a reminder before your Return Later due date. The account holder will receive both a text and an email reminder. Authorized users and device users will receive a text reminder for the eligible line.

Important: Keep your line active until your TradeUp return is complete.
