How To: Enable Bridge Mode on Freedom Wi-Fi Gateway

Overview

Enabling bridge mode disables the Wi-Fi router functionality of your Gateway so that you can use a third-party router that you’ve purchased elsewhere.

Enabling Bridge Mode

To enabled bridge mode on your Freedom W-iFi Gateway, follow the below steps:

1. Open any Internet browser (Internet Explorer, Chrome, Firefox, etc...) and navigate to the address bar at the top of the page. Enter the following: 10.0.0.1, and then hit the enter key on your keyboard:

2. Log in to the modem with the following information:

  • Username: admin

  • Password: password

3. On the At a Glance page, you will see Bridge Mode, which is in a disabled state by default.

4. When you enable bridge mode, a warning prompt will be displayed to confirm your selection to disable the router functionality of the Freedom Wi-Fi Gateway. Select OK to proceed.

5. An additional prompt will display to confirm that the Gateway is enabling bridge mode, which takes approximately 90 seconds to apply.

6. To disable bridge mode and restore Wi-Fi router functionality to the Gateway, simply click Disable beside the Bridge Mode toggle, or perform a factory reset on the Gateway.
