About: The Text to Email Service

Overview

The text-to-email/email-to-text service allows you to conveniently send and receive emails using text messages instead of using your cellular data.

The recipient will receive your text message as an email and their email response will be received as a text message, right on your device!

The text-to-email/email-to-text service will no longer be supported from December 1, 2024. To keep sending emails, please use an email provider.

Benefits and Cost

The benefits of the text to email service are:

  • It allows messages longer than 160 characters compared to traditional SMS.

  • It provides safety and security from spam messages.

  • It avoids use of cellular data.

If your rate plan includes unlimited text within the Freedom network, no additional charges will be incurred for sending texts to use this service. Receiving email-to-text messages are free of charge (anywhere) however standard roaming rates apply for sending texts to use this service while travelling or outside of the Freedom network.
